Referring Patients

The New Foscote Hospital welcomes patient referrals to our consultant-led clinics and services. GPs and healthcare professionals can refer privately insured, or self pay patients to any of our consultants as well as services including MRI, ultrasound and X-Ray.

Referring your patient to us ensures they receive:

  • Consistently high standards of care and expertise from consultants across a wide range of specialities
  • Fast access to MRI, ultrasound, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and X-ray services.
  • Use of state-of-the-art facilities including newly refurbished operating theatres
  • Elective surgeries and procedures including orthopaedics, general surgery and more
  • Comfortable patient ensuite rooms and a welcoming atmosphere
  • Short waiting times
  • Flexible appointment scheduling

NHS Referrals

The New Foscote Hospital accepts NHS referrals for certain conditions, as part of the NHS e-Referral service. They include:

General surgery

  • Repair of femoral hernia
  • Repair of inguinal hernia
  • Repair of umbilical hernia

Orthopaedics

  • Arthroscopy of the knee
  • Trigger finger treatment
  • Carpal tunnel release
  • Dupuytren’s contracture surgery
  • Ganglion removal
  • Hand and wrist surgery
  • Hip surgery
  • Hip replacement
  • Knee surgery
  • Knee replacement

NHS patients who have been referred for a relevant procedure can select The New Foscote Hospital for their treatment, when they log in to the NHS e-Referral  website.

Exclusions from our NHS e-Referral provision

Under our contract with the NHS we are, unfortunately, unable to accept the following patients for NHS e-Referrals::

  • A patient with incapacitating disease which is a constant threat to life.
  • A patient who has an unstable mental condition and is receiving psychiatric treatment.
  • A patient who is grossly obese, with a Body Mass Index of greater than 40.
  • Patients under 18-years-of-age for surgery.
