Mr Jones graduated in 1995, from the University of Oxford. His medical career began with posts in Cambridge and in London, at Northwick Park and St Mark’s hospitals. An interest in surgery evident at an early stage.
Registrar training included time at the world renowned Royal Brisbane Hospital in Australia. The perfect venue to study advanced laparoscopic surgery, which stimulated Mr Jones interest in minimally invasive treatment.
Further study included two years back in Oxford, for research towards a Doctor of Medicine (DM) degree, focusing on faecal continence.
After working as a consultant from 2007, Mr Jones was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in Oxford in 2009. An area where his laparoscopic skills are valuable, to provide safe surgery with faster recovery.
Mr Jones expertise in cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease are equally helpful to our patients. The same applies to other conditions, including his particular interest in pelvic floor disorders, incontinence, constipation and prolapse.
They help with aspects of life which are vital and can control how we live our lives, which is Mr Jones main focus when treating his patients.

Mr Jones’s research has won a number of prizes including the BJS Prize at the Association of Coloproctology and the Norman Tanner Prize, at the Royal Society of Medicine.
