Dr Elcombe initially studied at the University of Warwick, before completing a DPhil at Oxford in 1993. She holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision of Applied Psychological Practice.
More than two decades of experience are equally important, supporting adults with complex needs, or unique, personal issues. Taking a therapeutic approach, through cognitive behavioural therapy, schema focused therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy.
These and other techniques can be employed to help with anxiety, depression, or different types of phobia. Dr Elcombe has experience of treating patients suffering from PTSD, or the long term outcome of childhood trauma.
Whilst psychological problems can manifest in very clear ways, Dr Elcombe is equally skilled in understanding those with more subtle symptoms.

Research & Teaching
Dr Elcombe, is highly experienced and well regarded in her field. The research skills she honed at Oxford and her knowledge of psychology ensure that presentations she is invited to give are informative for colleagues.
She holds a Diploma in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, a relatively new, yet helpful field she has helped to take forward. Part of seeing the value of further research into techniques which will support her patients.
